The numbers on the distance markers on NH2 please me. Benares is only about 300 kilometers away. On the highway, it should be a cakewalk. The ride is highly uneventful. Nothing interesting happens. Absolutely nothing interesting.
I rolled into Benares at about 5.30 pm and head straight towards the Royal Enfield dealer. It is time for the 4th service. The bike has clocked 9000 kilometers.
Under the watchful eyes of the senior Bullet mech, the bike gets new life on the chain and the tappets. The brakes and the shock absorbers feel good. I get the shock absorbers raised a couple of inches to give better support to the saddlebags. Overall the bike feels much better.
Little do I know about tomorrow.
