Day 52 Gangtok to Yuksom

Its a Sunday. There is no permit today also and wasting another day for it is not a very nice way to spend the day. So I leave for west Sikkim. I don’t know much about the place. And that is sort of nice.

First stop – Yuksam. On the base of the Kanchenjonga range, this is the base for trekkers attemtping that range. Goechala and others. I decide to check it out first. The roads are lovely. Ranging from flat out to mountaineous and broken. It winds through Zero Point Temi, Rabongla and Legship towards Yuksam. The greenest roads till date.

Yuksam itself is pretty little town. Due to people from all over the world coming here for treks, it was not unsurprising to find stuff like canned fish and cooks adept at making American / French / German / Oriental food which one cannot expect to find elsewhere. Even in major towns.

Met this dude Maurice from Germany. Dunno if I got the spelling right. We went on talking about random things till 10 in the night over drinks and dinner. And super nice sleep.
